Friedrichshain on a Friday night,
I met a stray cat and he gave me a fright.
He had the brightest eyes I'd ever seen,
I wished I could take him home with me.
As we hung out and sat in the park,
Walked around until it got dark.
I thought that I had found a friend,
And hoped the evening would never end.
My heart went to a stray cat that day,
I hope the memories never fade away.
I can often be seen in the kiez,
Simply wandering the streets,
In the hope, one day we'll meet again.
As we told jokes the whole night long,
I thought that nothing could go wrong.
That stray cat made me so happy,
The time with him was a dream.
But as the night faded away,
That little cat no longer wanted to play.
As I thought about where he'd come from,
I turned around and he was gone.
